Rome/London CNN —Italy’s government convened crisis talks Thursday to investigate the reasons behind a surge in prices for pasta, one of the country’s most beloved and culturally important foods. Pasta inflation moderated a bit in April but prices were still up 16.5% over 12 months. Pasta prices have soared despite the price of wheat — the main ingredient — falling in recent months. The price of durum wheat — a type of wheat popular among Italian pasta-makers — has fallen 30% since May 2022. Making pasta only requires mixing water with the wheat, the group said, giving “little justification” for the huge increase in retail prices.

The Euronext (ENX.PA) chief executive’s decision to withdraw a preliminary 5.5 billion euro offer for investment platform Allfunds (ALLFG.AS) may turn out to be a lucky escape. An alternative deal will however require the 7.5 billion euro exchange operator to build a more valuable M&A currency first. The funds platform could have helped investors that already buy shares on Euronext to access a broader range of products. Meanwhile, Allfunds’ shares may fall if it continues to struggle. Euronext shares were up over 4% at 72.34 euros, as of 0953 GMT.

MPS is currently in the FTSE MID Cap index and left the blue-chip index in March 2017. At 1536 GMT, its stock was up by more than 3.6%, outperforming Italy's bank sub-index (.FTITLMS3010). One trader said MPS' stock has benefited from very high liquidity following November's 2.5-billion-euro new share issue, making it eligible for blue-chip status. At the same time, Italian cement maker Buzzi Unicem (BZU.MI) is "very likely" to be downgraded from the blue-chip to the FTSE MID Cap index, the trader said.

The dramatic moment when a NASA spacecraft intentionally flew head-on into an asteroid was captured by a tiny, Italian-built satellite that was designed to survey the aftermath of the cosmic collision. 41 de militari ai Armatei Naţionale selectaţi în contingentul KFOR-15 vor pleca în misiune în Kosovo timp de 6 luni. ''Militarii spun că plecarea în Kosovo pentru şase luni este o şansă de a căpăta experienţă şi de a contribui la creşterea calităţii cadrelor din Armata Naţională. Dorinţa voastră de serviciu şi devotament este o inspiraţie, vă mulţumesc şi vă doresc mult succes'', a spus Ambasadorul SUA în Republica Moldova, Dereck Hogan. Primul contingent moldovenesc a plecat la Kosovo în martie 2014. De atunci, peste 560 de pacificatori ai Armatei Naţionale au participat la menţinerea păcii în aria de responsabilitate din localitatea Pech.

Conform regulilor în vigoare din Marea Britanie, călătorii care vin din Italia trebuie să stea în carantină timp de 10 zile după sosirea lor în Anglia, aşa că "tifosii" care vor să urmărească pe viu marea finală vor trebui să respecte condiţii stricte. Fanii italieni vor avea voie să rămân pe pământ britanic cel mult 12 ore şi vor fi nevoiţi să stea într-o "bulă" sigură, utilizând zbouri charter şi transport dedicat între aeroport şi stadion. Începând cu 4 iulie curent, Republica Moldova a fost introdusă de Germania în lista statelor sigure. Astfel, cetățenilor R. Moldova care sosesc din R. Moldova în Germania nu se mai aplică regulile de intrare în țară specifice zonelor de risc în condițiile în care cetățenii prezintă dovada vaccinării anti-COVID sau un rezultat negativ al testării la noul coronavirus. Mai exact, începând din 4 iulie, cetățenii R. Moldova pot merge în Germania fără a fi plasați în carantină, la prezentarea dovezii testării sau vaccinării – inclusiv cu documentul emis de R. Moldova, care certifică imunizarea împotriva COVID-19. În context, R. Moldova, Ungaria, Georgia, Ucraina și Turcia au convenit în plan bilateral recunoașterea reciprocă a certificatelor naționale de imunizare împotriva Covid-19. Astfel, cetățenii R. Moldova, imunizați cu ambele doze, vor putea să călătorească în țările respective în baza certificatului de vaccinare, fără obligația de a intra în carantină sau de a prezenta teste negative la noul coronavirus.
